compass4ipod.sh This BASH script lets you grab the video stream of Compass (the CBC television news for Prince Edward Island, Canada) and save it to an MP4 file suitable for syncing to an iPod Touch or iPhone. INSTALLATION 1. First, make sure you have VideoLAN installed on your Mac. The script assumes you have it installed in your main Applications folder. Download from http://www.videolan.org/ 2. Save the compass4ipod.sh script somewhere on your Mac. USAGE 1. Open the Terminal application (it’s under Applications/Utilities) and change to the directory where you save the compass4ipod.sh script. For example, if you save it on your Desktop, then just cd ~/Desktop. 2. Run the script: bash compass4ipod.sh NOTES You may get the following errors when you run the script: [00000274] dummy interface: using the dummy interface module... [00000362] access_mms access error: error while asking for file -1 [00000362] access_mms access error: error while asking for file -1 [00000362] access_mms access error: cannot connect to server [00000362] access_mms access error: cannot read data This is normal, and doesn't actually mean that something has failed.
